January 2023

The New Year is a great time to reset and boost your fruit and veggie eating habits that keep you feeling happy and healthy. Here are some tips to help you eat more fruits and vegetables this year:

  • Stock up on the basics – no one likes having to trek to the store for a last-minute item. Keep some canned, frozen, or dried produce and some 100% juice on hand as a great way to add more plants to your meals and snacks.
  • Embrace the bounty of winter – learn about what is growing now right here in Arizona. Our state ranks third in the nation for production of vegetables. There are delicious fruits and vegetables being harvested every month of the year. Visit the Arizona Grown website to see what is available now.
  • Eat a rainbow – make it a daily habit to eat a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables. Fresh, frozen, canned and dried fruits and vegetables as well as 100% juice all count toward meeting health recommendations. You have lots of ways to make your meals and snacks plant-packed.
  • Add one more – make it a goal to add just one more fruit or veggie to your meals and snacks. For fast and easy ideas, visit Have a Plant.

Happy New Year!! Enjoy your fruits and veggies.
